Due to a major peak caused by a pilot project and ongoing growth, we need someone who can be responsible for sourcing, selecting, negotiating and procuring technical products and services to support the technology development teams and future production. Our scale-up client has a very international environment with all kind of nationalities.
Do you have hands-on experience in a technical buyer role and are you immediately available for a project in Amsterdam?
Hourly rate: approx. €85 excluding VAT
As Technical Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, negotiating and procuring technical products and services to support the company’s technology development teams and future production. For the immediate term, you will be embedded in cross functional tech teams to support product development while also driving towards mass production.
In this role you will be heavily involved in the day to day work and requirements of the technology team while reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager. Additional interfaces with Finance and R&D are expected. This role involves a deep understanding of the technical specifications, functionalities, and requirements of the products or services they are purchasing.
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
● Building out the Supply Chain Network to ensure scale, stability and cost efficiency moving into production.
● Supporting the Product & Engineering and R&D departments with their procurement needs, on a long term, but also ad-hoc basis.
● Sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers/vendors capable of providing the required technical products or services and will be used later on as vendors in production.
● Initiating relationships with new suppliers, sourcing samples for testing, negotiating high quantity pricing and delivery terms, moving suppliers to production.
● Participating in supplier audits and scoring.
● Understanding the technical aspects, specifications, and functionalities of the products or services being procured.
● Ensuring that purchased products or services meet the required quality standards and specifications.
● Assessing, understanding and validating the anticipated costs for custom procurement needs
● Assessing and mitigating potential risks associated with the procurement process, including supply chain disruptions, technical failures, or quality issues, and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
● Working to achieve rapid delivery to avoid development delays, without compromising quality standards or due process.
● Collaborating with various departments within an organization, such as engineering, production, or research and development, to understand their technical requirements and ensure that purchased items meet their needs.
● Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and market developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
● Working closely with the finance team to ensure proper procedure and administration.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
● 3+ years hands on experience in purchasing at international oriented Production/ Manufacturing companies with high-tech products like machines and categories of mechanical hardware and electronic components.
● You have a bachelors degree in Engineering- mechanical, electrical, process engineering but all disciplines welcome.
● Strong background in procurement of technical products like pumps, heat exchangers and valves.
● Experience with NPI, Ramp-Up, Life Cycle Management is a plus.
● Negotiating skills and purchasing knowledge (Kraljic, incoterms, etc). All in English
● Additional purchasing adjudication or courses are appreciated.
